Worship and Mission

"Mission was not the ultimate goal of the Churches Paul planted. Nor was the goal church growth. Worship was! "Missions exist because worship doesn't". God's glory fuels our mission and draws our worship. Worship is not a mere function of the church; it is her ultimate purpose." (Costas 1974:38)

WORSHIP Vid 1: So, what is it?

"We cannot ascribe to the Lord all the glory due his name if we are consumed by self-love or intoxicated by pitiful visions of our own greatness or independence... Worship emerges from my whole being to this Whole God, and therefore it reflects not only my understanding of God but my love for Him." D.A. Carson

WORSHIP Vid 2: Where Mission fits in?

1. How does our indifference to mission, rob God of the Glory/Worship that are rightfully his?

2. What things do we prioritise above God's Glory?

3. How might seriously seeking God's Glory and promoting Worship of him, impact our relationship with Fairfield?

4. What might it cost you to seek the "good of the City" and "God's Glory"? - Rejoice, Rejoice, Rejoice
